SCOPE OF WORK

I Agree To The Scope of Work Checked Off Below(Required)

Team lead to walk exterior & interior of house with homeowner to define scope of work and obtain homeowner approval

Team lead to conduct pre-work kick-off meeting with team, assign tasks, distribute safety gear, set up “clean area” outdoors for breaks, clear safe path of travel to exit doors, place plywood “ramps” over front/rear steps, and determine if power or water needs to be disconnected before work begins: Do Not touch/disconnect electrical, gas or plumbing lines

Remove soaked furniture and appliances and place at curb; removed soaked softgoods like drapes and clothes to be disposed and place in trash bags, seal with duct tape and place at curb

Remove any interior standing water puddles with wet/dry vac prior to starting demolition; empty water and sanitize vac with non-bleach sanitizing solution, rinse and dry interior

Box up softgoods not soaked, dishes and glasswares separately, and label for off-site sanitizing; assign team member to coordinate removal, off-site sanitizing and return of cleaned items to homeowner

Remember before Demo: keep one piece of flooring, baseboard and drywall for each room, and label for homeowner for FEMA or Insurance Adjuster. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to take photos of everything before it is removed, and to measure/document the height of the water line on walls

Carpet: cut into 18” wide strips, roll carpet-side in (backing side out) and place in contractor bags, duct tape closed and place at curb

Wood floor/wood wall paneling/baseboards/carpet tack strips: carefully remove with prybar and stack planks into bundles. Secure bundles of planks with duct tape and place at curb

Vinyl flooring: remove with floor scraper, place in contractor bags, duct tape closed and place at curb

If interior had hollow core doors, use hammer to remove pins at hinges and place at curb

Drywall should be removed maximum 12” above the interior water line, per FEMA reimbursement guidelines. Once cut line is made, detach from studs with prybar and place chunks of drywall in contractor bags, duct tape closed and place at curb

Cabinetry and countertops should be removed by a professional due to the weight and danger of these items

If walls contained insulation, pull down insulation from stud cavities, roll, place into trash bags duct tape closed and place at curb

Vacuum all surfaces with wet/dry vac using HEPA filter once each room is gutted; dispose of HEPA filter in sealed contractor bag after each house gutted

Clean remaining exposed surfaces such as sub-floor, studs, brick walls, glass, metal, etc… with Borax or other recommended non-bleach sanitizing solution in water using spray bottles and scrub brush. Mark cleaned surfaces with wax crayon to communicate completion to team

N95 or better respirator; if disposable, use only once. If half-face mask, remove filters and discard after each house cleaned and clean face contact areas with non-alcohol cleaning solution. When taking breaks, DO NOT place respirator on head, as mold spores will now be inside your respirator when you put it back on your face

Goggles (not with holes, only with ANSI vents, see below photo)

Gloves: Nitrile inner layer, and rubber outer layer for wet items; leather outer layer for wood/drywall items

Boots: Rubber boots that can be washed and sanitized; bring regular shoes for driving to and from site

First Aid Kit

Insect Repellent

Take a break every ½ hour to 1 hour maximum

Thoroughly scrub hands after safety gear removal at “clean area” set up by team lead

When in doubt, ask your team lead

Once home, take a COLD shower and scrub body and hair completely with soap
